Yes, I’m an ’80s child. And I like a lot of ’80s music. One of the most unique, fun, profound, and geeky bands is, of course, DEVO. Their hit “Whip It” is their most well know song, but they have many others such as “That’s Good” and “Freedom of Choice”. They’re also known for their funny hats. Here’s a rocking YouTube video of DEVO playing “Gates of Steel” live.

Social Media Idiot (video)

This video about a “social media expert” by zetainteractive on YouTube is pretty funny. I’ve provided a transcription below. The service used to create the video, xtranormal, is even more impressive. It’s a web site that allows the user to create video from text. Very ingenious. I’ve attempted to create a similar video about web accessibility which I’ll post later.

Man1: Acme corporation is finally getting into the social media game.

Man2: Have you thought about how you’re going to engage with individuals and provide value to the community?

Man 1: Hell not. We’re just going to build a bunch of fancy social media web assets and then spend a bunch of money on a big media push. We’re going to be rich.

Man2: What’s social about that?

Man 1: Nothing. But it’s going to look super cool, and we’ll have the mainstream media tell everybody that Acme is now engaged in social media. It’s going to be sweet.

Man2: You’re an idiot. No wonder your Twitter account got suspended.

When KISS Ruled The World (video)

If you like the rock band KISS, or not, their story is very interesting, and inspiring. And you gotta admit, then put on a concert like no one else!

When I was a kid, we were really into KISS. Funny things I remember are:

Imitating the song “Hotter Than Hell” in my band of 3 9-year-olds (including putting on makeup and lighting fireworks “on stage”).
My mom taking away my KISS albums because she heard us swearing with the song lyrics.
Staring at the crazy album covers and drawing some of them.
Not know what “Love Gun”Â meant.

iJustine: I’m Tweetin’ Music Video

iJustine always makes me laugh. Her videos are so witty and goofy, they’re just hilarious. And the production quality is excellent. A pretty impressive computer whiz, entertainer and entrepreneur that Justine Ezarik!

This video below is obviously more fitting to me! (In case you didn’t know, I’m a Twitter user and app developer.) Coincidentally, I met Justine at the 140 Twitter Conference in Mountain View, California, a few months ago. She was on a panel. You can follow iJustine on Twitter at @ijustine.

Many people have seen Twouble with Twitter, as it was somewhat “viral” for a while. But have you seen “Twitter Whore“? It’s kinda cheesy and silly, but for some reason I find it hilarious. Over the top.
